3 going on 13...

My daughter discovered Miley Cyrus today...somebody kill me now.

Note the mismatched dancing shoes above...lol

She definitely knows how to rock out...
Can you say "divalicious" in the sequins rockstar dress-up outfit??

See my shiny skirt??

I love it, it's soooo shiny, Mommy!

It's a "Party in the USA" at our house.

Pottymouth...

With a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old in the house, it is hard not to find yourself slipping up and saying things that you shouldn't at times. The big boys are not bad about saying things they shouldn't although they do slip up with an occasional "crap" or "this sucks", which I believe they are allowed to say at the d-bag's house but not with Mom. I am guilty of cussing at times; however, my husband is the KING. LOL And for some unknown reason, the wee ones don't tend to repeat me when I say bad words, they only seem to repeat him.

Last night in a period of 2 hours, our 3-year-old repeated 5 different bad things he said, ending with calling him a "jacka$$", at which point I sat with my hands covering my face in a desperate attempt not to die laughing. It was decided at that point that we needed something more concrete as a reminder to not curse like a sailor.

Hence:

The birth of the "Pottymouth Jar". I took an empty Folgers canister and covered it in scrapbooking paper. I tried to take a good picture of the caption but stupid digital camera didn't want to take a clear picture so it says:

The Pottymouth Jar
"When Daddy says something bad,
it buys Mommy something good."
Dear hubby said that I had to pick out something specific that I wouldn't otherwise buy for myself to purchase with the money collected, so I have decided I need one of these:

Cricut Expression Pictures, Images and Photos

I can already picture the craft projects I'm going to do with this little beauty and the hubby already owes money in the jar today, so one of these days it WILL be mine, bwahahaha!

Meet Mr. Romance

Yep here he is girls...it's ok to be jealous...he's all mine! :)
He would kill me if he knew I put this picture on here - this is him at a party after he had a few brewskies attempting a dance of some sort. LOL
My husband is an amazing guy - and much more handsome than in this picture. He's a great guy, my best friend, an amazing dad...he has it all...except that he does not have a single romantic bone in his body. He hates chick flicks and will only watch them if I have whined sufficiently for a period of days until he gives in. He doesn't do PDA at all - not even a peck in public. When we discussed our "wedding kiss", he said he had a plan and the words "One, two, three, BREAK!" were actually spoken out loud. His idea of romance is picking up a Diet Coke for me on his way home from work at the gas station. It IS sweet that he does things like that; however, not what I would consider "romantic".
I've been talking about my reading list for 2010 and I got "Leaves of Grass" by Walt Whitman in the mail today. I show my dear husband and say "Honey, we could go have a picnic in the park this summer and you could read this to me. It would be romantic"
Mr. Romance's response? "I'm not doing that. That's the gayest thing I've ever heard." (**Disclaimer: My husband is not a homophobe - felt that needed to be clarified at this point.)
At the moment before he said this, I had taken a slurp of my scalding hot coffee. The moment he said it, I couldn't help but snort and hot coffee shot out my nose. I burned my nose on the inside and now I can't stop sneezing today.
Yep, I think we're in the running for romantic couple of the year around here.

Wordless Wednesday

The toy of the day yesterday was this pair of safety goggles found in the junk drawer of the kitchen. They had a blast playing "bug" and "spaceman" and all kinds of things...love it when we spend hundreds of dollars on holidays and birthdays and they want to play with things like this...sighhhh. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
